Wind me up, turn me on!

Nothing, I tell you, is more turning on than a sharp mind. OH! No lines and no charm works better than someone who has presence of mind, quick wit and the nonchalance to pull it off. And the few people I have in my life – the new and the old – are fucking so bright that it is thrilling. And I want to hold on to them and not let them go and therefore I become a pile-on (me thinks) or what we here, in the northern parts of the country, call being a ‘chep’. (Literally means someone who ‘sticks’)

Me: Listen, I am going to bed now, will talk to you later
(trying to avoid a friend I am fighting with at 1 am in the night, Net disconnects and I log in two minutes later)
Friend: Hey! Up so early?

Friend: some smart comeback
Me: Hah, good one, I shall be prepared for it the next time.
Friend: Oh yeah? Ok... (and proceeds to repeat the smart comeback again)

Well, well. Maybe you don’t see the humour. But it was funny. And I laughed a lot yesterday. A lot. It feels so nice! I woke up smiling too. My doggies were so surprised. Though everyday little Loona wakes me up with her paws on my face and li’l licks, while big Golu Dawg waits patiently for his turn at pawing me… they usually get screamed at if the licking is too intensive. Waking up from deep sleep with slobbering beasts isn’t always pleasant. But this morning! Well, I smiled at them, played with them longer and was generally in a pleasant mood. I think I saw the two share a what’s-with-her-look.

Hmmm. (smiles to self) No matter how much we act like a Grouch Princess and school ourselves daily that eventually we are alone and therefore we should become adepts at surviving alone and not depend etc… PEOPLE do make me happy. I love it even when a PR person calls… to ask how I am and when that sentence is not followed by a story they want you to do. I enjoy people. And intelligent people with warm vibes and crazy eyes and funny talks… Ah! It replenishes the soul and undoes the damage of many months in two hours.

I think I can safely say (grin) that I have met a lot of men. Almost all ‘types’ when it comes to what makes a man and what makes a person. I do check out good-looking men or those well-packaged torsos. Did so even when I was dating; and can positively say, will continue to do so too. I LOVE looking at them – erm, the men, the entire thing people! – especially since the number of fellows you can check out is drastically going down. (whatever happened to quality control?) I say it’s not fair: the girls keep getting better looking each day while the men seem to have stopped trying at all! And the only ones who seem to care for their bodies or their appearances are either 18 and testosteronal, or gay or 45+ and suddenly discovering a lot of good looking 20-somethings around them… Like Shekhar Suman or that Shekhar Kapur (must be a Shekhar-thing)

ALL men my age or close to my age or slightly older are behaving like housewives with cheating husbands. Who do I look after my body for? I am eating too much. I don’t have time. It’s just a little flab. Or no flesh on my arse. Or some dry skin. So what if I am wearing the same black shirt for the 17th time, it’s comfortable. Or unkempt hair. Or stinking armpits. Or horrible shoes and even horrible-r nails. The point is: You don’t have to look Personification de Spiffy; but you can try and look a thing/man a girl would like to look at. ELSE be prepared, your darling Love Of Your Life, will only give you distracted attention. Women are much smarter when it comes to cheating on men: They don’t make the mistake of getting caught, at least not easily. (Sinister smile).

Going beyond looks though – because good-looking people you just wanna look at – a guy really does not need looks, or branded clothes or a flashy car to get attention. As far as mine is concerned, Originality and brains get the marks and catch the eye. And of course I have a thing for a person’s eyes and what reflects in them, and the mouth and the way people move their hands and their mannerisms and the way they’d lift their eyebrows or the way they’d deny things when caught in a spot…

I might be a loner and a loser who cannot keep friends (or erm, make them that easily), but hey, I do love people. Particularly if they are intelligent. So, please, Oh Smart Ones! come, turn me on. (Grin, and do note, I am talking plurals)

And by the way, so far no marriage proposals yet. Let’s keep a count till November; if there are none, then I shall call for a special party to go beat up that astrologer and will hope some of you will join in. Or at least report about it in the papers and make me famous. Yeah, sounds like an idea.

PS: Intelligence does not mean constant repartee or instant jokes. And for those who think you have to be constantly smart around someone else; it’s not that either. Moronism from those who are smart is quite adorable (and this is the eighth time since morning that I have used ‘adorable’)… Did I mention that I lurve eyes? And no am not falling for anyone, just bloody enjoying my grey cells buzzing with electricity. I FEEL it! And it’s such a nice change from thinking about the same men and the same issues and playing the same boring game. And before the post script becomes another post… ta!

PS2: And maybe, the good feelings are the vasopresin and oxytocin releases. :D

ah the Indian man, the Delhi ones in particular. with beautiful young things on their arms...fat pay cheques, burgeoning bank balances and an even wider frame. what does one say about them? its as if, they have given up on trying to look good, as a collective specie. and then the pretty boys, you might as well be hearing impaired or brain dead when they are around. where have all the good men gone?:P

Dear Lord I pray for:
Wisdom,to understand a man
Love, to forgive him
Patience, for his moods.
Because, Lord, if i pray for strength,
I'll just beat him to death.

Duh! talk about stereotyping...eehhh some one has surely made a happy discovery. Whats wrong in exercising a little, whats wrong in working a lil harder and ...yeah beautiful young things on their arms....wat does that mean ( i am dumb...as you may have understood)..they do all these things only to make YOUR life a lil more comfortable...yes we dont understand that women dont need money or whatever has been said in these comments.....but hey...what if we actually remove a fat pay check and a toned body from an ongoing relationship....and yeah..have u ever talked to such men? Have u ever tried to get in to the minds or the hearts of such men....or do you stereotype them and move on....coz us men don't...we are always looking for Serendipty....too bad its a discovery.....

@ varun
tsh...tsh...tsh! so close and yet so far. you've really misinterpreted what I am saying my dear boy.
Point number one- I am not stereotyping. A LOT of Delhi men are like this.

Number two - I am saying that it is very hard to find a toned body and a sane head in one man.

Number three - Women do not want men to earn for them. The women who do aren't on this blog. Thank you very much!

Number four - The men I belittle are the ones who run after money and pyt's and not real women. They don't care about the brains.

Last but not the least, number five - Women are also always looking for serendipity and the chance to get to know the man deeper. Provided ofcourse, the men want the same.

Ah...sorry for the delay...goddarned server wouldnt let me comment on my OWN blog. Grrr.

Waittaminnit! So men have a problem being toned?! Ah, you mean men like flabby women, with hair on their bodies who smell bad and dress up shabbily? You would still suck my ear if it had hair coming out of it?

As for pay cheques --> dunno about women who are looking at certain figures; but traditionally, a pay cheque meant the guy is doing SOMETHING... today it also means the guy is engaged in some activity that either leads to money or at least some creative output. Would men want to date women who sit on their arses and fart around all day???

Agreed that some women DO like ONLY those men who can afford luxuries etc.

As far as those men "being in the movies"... its logically, either look good or at least have something else working for you!

Jhoomur aka JB said...

and dude don't blame us... you guys created the ads! Toned men and what not... at least if you gave women 'models' and poster women to live by, they are matching up. Cant say the same 'about the boys...
