The Reader

Currently reading: Sookie Stackhouse's vampire escapades in the small American town of Bon Temps (I'm on book 7). The book has been made into television series TrueBlood and is shown on HBO. I NEED to get that series.
Rating: 4/ 5

Recently read:
Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns (3/5) and The Obernewtyn Chronicles (3/5) by Isobelle Carmody.

This is a Facebook note/forward/tag, but I thought it was a good idea to put it up here. I would love to read your lists and am hoping you'd respond in the comments section with those you have read. I am definitely looking forward to BOOK SUGGESTIONS...

Would recommend We The Living by Ayn Rand, her debut novel, not as popular as The Fountainhead but is a beautiful book - seems straight from the heart (4 on 5).
Also noticed that you haven't read the kite runner, it is a nice book, much better than the thousand splendid suns and much much better than the crappy movie they made (3.5/5).

I've read 15 titles from this list, not many but surely better than BBC's estimate.

Its scary that I have read most of them. And if you were to ask me what genre of books I like to read, i would draw a blank.

Do read 'A fine balance' by rohinton mistry when you can.

@ Swati: Oh yeah, seem to excel in the troll department. why the delete?
Nah, never tried Garth Nix. Will do though... now waiting for the 9th book from Charlaine Harris, "Dead and Gone". Quite enjoying Sookie Stackhouse's adventures.

@ Shrey: Yeah, will go back to Kite Runner some day... As for Rand, have read Fountainhead, We the Living and Atlas Shrugged as well. But I will be honest that I do doubt her 'heart' somewhat. :)
Even if you don't read fantasy, you should definitely try Samit Basu's debut trilogy. Quite a lot of fun...

@Musings: I think the BBC meant it as a rather standard list for non-readers. :)

And anyway...Harry Potter series is 7 books. :P

Victor hugo and anna karenina reminds me of my grandfather who died at the age of 24,leaving 3 kids and a treasure of classic books behind.

I've read 26!
So, that gives me at least 10 more years to catch up with you.
I have been a little lenient though. Included books I've read abridged (I wouldn't have understood the real ones at the age I read them, anyway. :D) and even those whose stories I no longer remember. :D
