The Mind Of A Woman?

Let's network people, those who are on Orkut and those who are on Facebook.

It's nice to see online communities hotting up on both the platforms. The recent Eve Emancipation group on Facebook has 88 members and though hardly anyone interacts there, a big thank-you to all those who've joined the group.

I logged in to my Orkut account after quite a while today and was hugely surprised to see that one of my communities there (before I started writing here on Eve*) called The Mind Of A Woman had a large number of membership requests. On the last count as I type this, MOAW has 226 members. A very good show and thanks again for the enthusiastic response. NOW to get the community back and running and everyone responding.

I have been getting many 'friend requests', both on Orkut as well as Facebook: Without offending anyone -- and if you get offended it's your problem not mine -- I am not adding strangers onto the list. While I do appreciate you reading my blog, we don't have to be friends for you to read/ like/ hate this blog.

HOWEVER, I immensely enjoy interacting with you and locking horns on issues and what I write here. The more you tell me what you think, the better it is for me to write on different things. Er, it does not always have to be locking horns, we can of course mutually agree to disagree with each other and do things politely and all that. (Politeness can get a bit boring though!) Please feel free to leave your comments here on the blog or to join either the Facebook group or the Orkut community -- I look forward to interacting with you there.

A bit about comments: You are free to write what you think of a certain post or an idea presented. Valid points will never be deleted. Actually invalid points will never be deleted either; we shall just have a laugh and move on. Comments that are abusive in nature will NOT be deleted either; but depending on how abusive your comment is and how much you piss me off, I might decide to take action etc. While the stats counter says many of you are reading Eve*, there aren't as many interacting. Please note that I say "interacting" and not just writing in saying "Oh I loved your post." Those are welcome too. :) However, it would be REALLY nice if we all could share what we THINK. For those worried about saying the wrong thing, disagreeing with the author or sounding stupid -- Have you read this blog?! It says a whole lot of stupid and wrong things and despite that they invite me on shows. *Wink*

Do interact, particularly if you DON'T agree with what I have to say. As I've said earlier, I love a good debate and will try my best not to let you win. :)

For those on Orkut, participate in the SREESANTH THAPPAD poll and have your say: Is it okay for men to cry in public?
(thappad = slap)

Last things first. I am not on orkut, i mean there is this half hearted re attempt at orkut but I hate that site...so i will take the opportunity to comment here, if you don't mind.
Had you asked, was it okay for Sreesanth to have cried in public, i would have thought and said, Maybe... maybe more inclined nooooo, though!
Er...I have NO interest in cricket or it's controversises, but here is this adult man crying!!!
But the moment you ask is it okay for men to cry in public. The question does get interesting, because there is this assumption that men opposed to women...is it okay for women to cry in public in a different scenario?
I personally think it depends on how serious the said issue is...I am cool with ANYONE crying but not so much out of helplessness or conviniece! Crying is okay, it is HUMAN, how can it be anything but okay? But NO control over emotions (of any kind...anger, tension, nervousness, too much PDA all of that) is a bit dicey, i'd say...
And maybe i sound judgemental when i say, it depends on the reason as to why the person is crying so i;d like to say, being judgemental is not my intention. Only I'd have a problem with attenttion seeking kind of crying.

p.s i ONLY and ONLY added you on facebook because of the 7 times poking confusion. i thought you were being funny/playful. i am also very wary of adding strangers, sorry, i did not mean to force you into accepting. I shall remove the name...thanks.

Dear 'N'
Feel free to interact on whichever platform. Vis-a-vis friend request on Facebook, the issue's closed to stop reacting to that! As for "forcing" me, you aren't and you didn't...adding you or anyone is my prerogative! As for removing name from list, that's yours. But as far as am concerned, its ok, chill out. :) More on men crying soon...

:)
thanks for the clarification.
Okay now about men crying...I remember falling in love with my first boyfriend a little MORE because he burst out crying in front of everyone over something he felt vcery strongly about. i was 18 and he 22. but i thought he was sooooo cool. at that time at least.
and i must confess, probably it is a rare thing to see, men crying moves me more than women crying does. but again i'd say it mostly depends on why the crying occurs, provided i know the issue and am not being random judgemental bitch ;)

What's wrong with being a random judgemental bitch? sounds positively more entertaining than random, considers-everything-carefully, image conscious bitch!

Ha ha ha...no i meant, i have been super insensitive at times...yes, non intentionally but that does not absolve me of the pain that i did cause. therefore i am trying to cautious. i agree that being bitchy and judgemental is vastly entertaining and i do indulge in it many times.
but see if a person is crying, i'd hope that the reason is more than waaa waaaa...no one has looked at me for the past 4 seconds and now i shall die.
yes, even at the age of 14 i thought girls in my class BAWLING in a show of Lion King was demented as that CRYING was ONLY subject to presence of males...know what i mean...

p.s ha ha ha i read your comment carefully and i am thinking, if i am to be a BITCH anyway, then why not have fun...you are right :)

but wht`s an issue if men want to cry? ? all think man does not feel anything or rather he should not express it whatever may be the reason...crying has it been made equivalent to "emotional peeing" and so it should b done in public? men are not always at fault and when they are forced to face like tht ...it hurts..

Well since its men and crying being discussed together how can I resist?I have come across men who use tears to get away from a situation or to gain sympathy..in fact I was till recently dating a vicious malicious man who would get judgmental n put up quite a show of being an egoistic self indulgent male that he was but catch him doing something wrong like meeting other women n flirting he would immediately launch into a gamut of emotional shit with crying being the highpoint ..blaming his life, his parents, his marriages, his dead father, his relatives etc. simply to cover his own ass.I mean i think it was whole lot of love mixed with even more of stupidity that prevented me from reading into his lies..but yes..men use tears to absolve themselves of the guilt they might be feeling for a situation..anyways I think it is ok for anybody to cry just so long as its not used as a weapon to or a shield to deflect from the issue..but lets face do you know anyone who has not cried to save their ass?

hmmmm...is it always? crying has many reasons behind it ...genuine,fake, t save ur ass or to be an ass...an ass-beggar.ou have desried crying purely as an emotional weapon..but it can be used as a weapon only when the other person allows him to..thts what i think u have done by melting down whenever he cries and now u r blaming him when you yourself could be responsible for it.
crying is just an outlet of all those worries n frustrations n doubts n wishes n dreams which u cant find solution toinspite of sharing it with ur good old frnds. ts jus an reaction of ur own which ur mind n heart duly deserve ...an outlet ..a relief..then why should we restrict it to women or men..its jus about a thing which is alive..
sometimes i feel do such feelings exist in animals tto or its just our great mighty human brains which understand, speak, write, discover n invent too much has given the whole new meaning to everything...and i myself is not doing anything different ...hehee
